BioChar Workshop

Join Karl Kaufman of Michigan Ecovillage and Paul McCullough of Sierra Club Regenerative Food & Agriculture Committee at Deanne Bednar’s Strawbale Studio in Oxford, Michigan for a Pit Kiln Biochar production demonstration, as well as a demonstration of small pyrolysis cookstoves, which also produce biochar. A tour of Strawbale Studio’s enchanting thatched roof natural buildings & grounds will follow. Donations are welcomed.  Suggested, $10 — at the event, or join our Crowd Fundraiser online !  Proceeds will go to further the work…

Strawbale Studio Exhibit / Demo at Eastern Market

Come visit the Eastern Market, and come to Shed 5 to see the Strawbale Studio exhibit and demonstrations !  We will firing up the Traveling Turtle Earth Oven, and also a 15 brick Rocket Stove outdoor cooker.  And come participate in earth plasters on a strawbale, and modeling earth as a sculpture (cob).  Whoopee ! Books and Earth Plaster Sculpting Mix also is for sale at the booth. There will be dozens of other exhibitors...in Tent 5 & 6...all oriented…

Volunteer Day 🙂

Regional Event: BIO-CHAR DEMO at Moore’s Farm, Northville MI

Biochar Demonstration  Join Karl & Gaylyn Kaufman of Michigan Ecovillage and Paul McCullough of the Sierra Club Regenerative Food and Agriculture Committee at Doug Moore’s farm, near South Lyon, Michigan for a low-tech biochar production demonstration. Biochar is charcoal from biomass, which effectively sequesters carbon for hundreds to thousands of years.
