This hands-on class was held twice at the Bioneers Detroit Conference Oct 14 & 15, 2022.

Youth from The Academy of the Americas in Detroit came to sculpt with earth!  First they viewed a slide show of ways that earth can be sculpted for different uses: Earth Oven, Benches, Niches, Sculptures & more!  Then Deanne mixed a batch “by foot” ~ which delighted the students more than I ever imagined! Students got a “cob” of earth and a board, and started their own individual sculptures!  Sweet.

There was high engagement and enthusiasm.  Well worth the effort of “schlepping” earth and supplies from Strawbale Studio!  It was a real delight for me, and a joy for them as well!  Yay!
