Making Cordage & Learning To Lash

Sunday Oct 4, 2026 101 – 4pm

Join this fascinating workshop at the Mi Folk School  taught by Deanne Bednar with materials straight from nature. Learn the traditional craft of cording using several different local plants! Then learn several very useful knots and apply them to some small lashed model-making of your choice (ex. lashed ladder, A-frame Structure, picnic table! ). We will also make a few larger scale projects together. Handouts will give ideas! A very interesting, fun and practical class.

Material Provided. You can also bring your own poles of any scale if you’d like to.
Bring a lunch.  Enjoy eating outside at the picnic tables, or inside.

$110 includes materials.  Held at MI FOLK SCHOOL outside Ann Arbor MI

Class size limited.  Register now to save your place.
