This special Spoon Carving Class was designed around a request from Charis to bring together some of her peeps for a learning experience at Strawbale Studio.
The 6 of us harvested wood, Staghorn Sumac, for whittling a wooden spreader knife to learn basic skills and tools, and then as a 2nd project, carved spoons ~ a more challenging project!
Gathering around the woodstove in the Strawbale Studio was a lovely place to do this traditional skill, and we really enjoyed being together. The workshop ran from 10a to 5p and we also enjoyed lunch together, and snacks and tea in the afternoon.
