“I’m ALIVE!”

I love and use herbalism in my life!
I am buying land for my Permaculture Dream!

Blog Photo:  Jack’s 3-D printer – making gifts for friends!

Selena -What’s Alive in me:   I noticed the tree sculpture involved in the architecture of the strawbale studio. We’re in the process of planning a trip to Portugal. The intention of the trip is to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. I have a friend there who has a vineyard and some other things, and he does a lot of eco-landscaping. I’ll be picking up, when I go there, to see what he does. He’s trying to change the landscape, so that it doesn’t burst into flames. He tries to do things that I don’t even understand. He removes the invasive eucalyptus tree. He won’t charge us anything to go. He has an airbnb there on the border of Spain and Portugal (literally, one door and the other). They leave the grapes on the vine to freeze, then they harvest them and make the wine. That’s what’s alive in me. We still have to buy the tickets. Husband: “I know, I know! I gotta get the tickets!”. The end of April and the beginning of May.
What’s Inspiring me::
  I am starting to learn Chi Gung, classes online with a wonderful lady.  Iam doing it through the whole day, ground in slow controlled movement.  I think CHI IS ALIVE IN ME.  Tai chi and chi gung is from the same part of the world.  Simpler.  .  Chi is alive in me.

Jubilant Jo – What’s alive in me: Dealing with things here: stressful with the animals. A weasel got into my chicken coop and killed some of my chickens. The peppermint oil kept them away for a while, and I sprayed that again in hopes that that will work again. Wilda really likes my cat a lot. 60lb dog comes up to a 12lb cat. They basically get along well, but my dog gets a little exuberant sometimes. She’s doing a lot better. Just had a phone call: one of my cats toes had a little tiny growth (half the size of a pea). Soft tissue sarcoma (1 year left to live). I’m not going to go into do all the chemo, radiation, and all that stuff. I’m taking the homeopathic route. Found someone to put in the money to rent the building for a few years @ Mohawk Valley Collective. Lots of different kinds of work to do there: floors, walls, etc. We’ll be working every Saturday through the winter. I eat a lot. I’m just perpetually hungry. By living by myself, I don’t fix big meals. Big pot of broccoli, then a pot of something else that amounts to 17 small meals a day. For Christmas, I got a whole book of Sudoku puzzles. I really like doing them, and I get a bit addicted to them. I’ve done all the easy levels, and I’m doing the level 2 ones now.
What’s Inspiring me:    A program “next Door” connecting people in a geographic area. People get to know each other. I’ve made some connections with helpers and made a friend. A person can hide their address if they choose. I hired a local construction guy who came on time and has been back 3-4 times.  He has done work on strawbale and prune trees and one day he didn’t show up.  He was in the hospital with the flu.  He’s coming back Friday. ( My list is longer than my pocketbook.  I’ll make progress on my projects with his help.)    I try to keep up with the environmental and human rights group emails.  I am never ever bored.  I’m not going to retire.   Sooz, ask for worker recommendation.

Jack – What’s Inspiring me: For Christmas I got 2 books of puzzles, and are addicted to them.  It keeps the brain working. n   that’s what’s going on here.   Jack: Called to host a surprise weekend but will only be $40 in the spring!   Permaculture orchard.  I can afford the land and its great.  South facing and bowl-shaped.  and an hour from my parents.  I’ve been saving up and here’s hoping I can build some strawbale on it.  Earlier in the s call  the magic of friendship the 3…So my girlfriend Nupur and I are going to a cabin with a woodstove, and we are supposed to get a lot of snow this week. Jack left zoom before “What’s Inspiring me”.  🙂

Michael – Wha’ts Alive in me:  Tip to Jack: fruit production on trees should be done on a NORTH FACING SLOPE, so the trees do not break winter dormancy too early. Microclimates are essential to consider in agriculture. 1 great big rock can allow the growth of plants that could not exist anywhere else in the yard. 2 sheets of plywood and a 2’x4’ will let you get a wheelbarrow anywhere. NASA had done a study on 5 year olds: 90% were creative geniuses. Five years later, only 10%. By 13, 2%. There’s one person in every ten thousand on the planet that has the capacity to solve any problem facing humanity. Out of 8 billion people, that’s a lot of smart people. A little less talk and a lot more action. We can fix it. Yoda: There is no try. There is do and do not. People like to play ostrich. You are part of everything that exists, you are not separate. Very thankful to meet you all. Never underestimate the power of a handful of people to get things done. Only ever can a small group of people get the big things done.
What’s Inspiring Me:    I am passionate with my own health Heart Health: Wild violets and leaves. Hawthorne Berries, flowers, tea, leaves.  Bleeding heart, potent. There’s a lot of things out there for the heart.  I’ve been an herbalist since I’ve been walking.  My dad had a week long cough. I picked medicinals.  he drank the quart of tea.  Woke up the next morning healed.  Herbs are a big passion, inspiring me.  We have grown up with nature.  The pharmaceutical industry was started from about 39 plants. As a base for their formulas.

Sooz-  “What’s Alive in Me.  “ Since early Spring, it’s been one thing after the next. Some of the most expensive things… Very old apple tree: I had to pay to cut her down. It will be good to have more gardening area. I was diagnosed with a-fib. I’m actually caught up. What a relief! Planning about passing. Although I’m very healthy, there are some things I need to do. So anyways that’s what’s alive. A wonderful feeling of being caught up.A lot of natural medicine for the a-fib. Blood thinners from big pharma are not for me: just natural stuff. I’m very regular about it. With the a-fib, and all the other stuff: my cognition is not what is used to be. Everyone goes through it, it doesn’t indicate anything super disastrous. It takes me longer. I have to leave it and come back. It is happening. I’m feeling so wonderful. Decades: golden milk with turmeric and some spices. Natto fermented soy. Ozone for the wound of Jo’s cat. Colloidal silver from my chiropractor.
What’s Inspiring me  Violets, bloom, honey.  Let seeds soak up your saliva and it soaks up our DNA and knows what we need. Harold Bruhner, says he could tell what plants I needed by what plants were growing in our yard.   The Language of Plants.  Irish herbalist, knows the old world living in Maine.  Shawn Patrick O’Donohough.I listen to him each week.

Deanne – What’s alive in me.  Not feeling so well since July and August. Feeling a little bit better starting yesterday. Eustachian tube blocked up. Sinus stuff. Longest time sick in my whole life. Lyme disease diagnosis. My heart’s still irregular. I’m not taking the medication my doctor is recommending. Meditation and breathing and calming the body. 20 minutes of mediation is worth 2 hours of sleep. Taking my vitamins, motherwort, turkey tail tinctures. Trying to get a lot of sleep, eat well, and keep hydrated. It’s been a thing. I don’t know where it’s going to go exactly. I feel like I’m pretty keeping up with it. I’m gaining on my head infection. I’m in the middle of my internship. Taught a two day workshop last weekend.  Going away for an event or two in the next week. And feeling better.  That’s good enough. What’s Inspiring me?

Wolfgang: ( I lost his notes !  This is what I remember.  Deanne)  I am grateful to be here and connect with folks who are interested in life!  I love music and dancing with friends around the campfire. I like to slow down and take things in and really experience life.  I’m grateful to come in this zoom and hear what you are sharing.  It’s inspiring.

Gratitude for this time together on the Full Moon, sharing from our hearts and listening to each other.   Deanne
