This is Taj’s EcoVillage design, with lots of labeled details! Check out the many and complex ideas included 🙂 Final copy to come.

This is Taj’s EcoVillage design, with lots of labeled details! Zoom in and check out the many and complex ideas. Can you find the Market Center? The River?

We had 4 ZOOM Sessions in May, 2020 with the GOAL: to design a Community that is Ecological and Fun ! So…. together a core team of several students ~ Taj, Fiona, Alisha, Felix ~ explored, sketched and shared their visions. Teachers Deanne Bednar & Michael Mallon helped support that process, while really enjoying the process themselves ! Photo Album.

Here is the core design team ! Michael, Deanne, Felix, Alicia, Taj, and Viona.

What’s important? Food recycling, economy, transportation, learning center, renewable energy, animals and nature…

Deanne sketched student ideas as we brainstormed thing they would LOVE to have in their life.

The Global Ecovillage Project is available for individuals and teachers to use, modifying it to meet your needs.  The Global EcoVillage Project was originally developed and taught (1981 – 1996) by Deanne in her Sustainable Futures elective class at the 7th grade level at OLMS in West Bloomfield. We also did an earthen “Cob” model at Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center and at the MI Earth Day Festivals & the Detroit Bioneers Conference ! At the Strawbale Studio some of these ideas are being built “for real” !  3 min video
